Nile observation hour
The Nile is Egypt's horizontal monument — best read sitting down, with no destination beyond watching current carry feluccas, barges, and the occasional heron.
Choose a corniche bench in Cairo, Luxor, or Aswan. Assign one hour. Note traffic patterns: morning laundry boats, afternoon cruise ships, sunset felucca clusters. Geography lessons hide in vessel types.
What changes by city
- Cairo: density, bridges, urban roar softened by water
- Luxor: temple backdrops, sugarcane loads, west bank haze
- Aswan: granite islands, slower current, wider sky
No agenda
This letter contradicts checklist tourism on purpose. One hour of looking is a complete visit.
